Where did we get our name?

Great Question! This property serves as a legacy to the Treat family of Searcy County that goes back 5 generations.  During the 1920's, my great-grandfather, Steve Treat, owned and operated a mill that produced staves.  Staves are a particular cut of wood that is used for barrel making.  This was a thriving business when the railroad came through the county.  My grandfather and great uncle, Lucine and George Treat, took over the family business after him.  This was then followed by my uncle, David Treat, and then his sons, Curtis and Steve (Shoby) Treat.  Next was Steve's' sons, William and John David.  The mill closed permanently in 2021.  The cabin sits on the property that was once once a booming business and local employment for many citizens of the area.
